At a temporary yet en-lighting standstill!

So it’s been a little over a month or so now since I have started my new life and adventures as a van dweller. I started where I purchased my van named, Silver Surfer and I posted in Las Vegas for a couple of weeks.  From there as noted in my previous blog, I headed back towards the east coast for an quick visit and pick up of my last items to carry with me that I had stored at my parents place.

I traveled northwest to the east coast and saw some amazing views on the way, I didn’t stop per-se this time around to actually view a-lot of places due to a snow storm heading up in the direction I was headed and I didn’t want to be stuck there without proper clothing and equipment. Now and for the past 2 weeks, I have been in Florida and was awaiting a seasonal position in Las Vegas to begin in which I was heading back up that way from Miami. Unfortunately, I had my first setback in Silver surfer and had 2 mechanical issues to be repaired. It just so happened that the location that I had the issues and broke down was very close to my Uncle and Aunt’s home which I had never been to prior to this day. I was so very fortunate that they were not only home but were able to help me out in my time of need, this happened on Thanksgiving day……so believe me I had a lot to be thankful for.

I decided due to those issues and the distance of where I was headed to begin with, had to be switched up and had to quickly re-plan my choice of locations to get a seasonal job to re-up my money in my account to continue my travels in a couple of months. It has now been about a week and a half and I am still searching for a position in this area and surrounding area to begin working. I sat at a local park and allowed myself to decompress and release the unknown and uncertainty or what is to come. I know that I am not the first person nor will I be the last person that a temporary change in plans on the road has occurred to and once I took a-hold of the small lingering fears of the what ifs, I remembered that I have gotten this far and I have many more months ahead of me on this amazing journey. I say this to All of my fellow travelers, no matter what form of traveling you are doing to break free from the boxed in world, that you are never to let temporary setbacks nor matter how big or small deter you in any way from continuing your goals and journey.  Just now that those moments will be parts of your story you tell to others and let them no you managed and pushed through.

It’s alright to take a breather while you are in a moment of pause on your travels to redirect your plans and eventually go to where you were originally heading to before whatever happened, happened. Enjoy your travels and take time to take it all in.
